QUALIFICATIONS Accommodation must be available for Inspection by the Bureau's representatives so that quality standards may be maintained for all accommodation listed on www.bookabed.co.za OR ALTERNATIVELY, accommodation must either be Tourism Grading Council of SA approved or approved by a recognised Tourist Authority such as the local Municipal Publicity Association to qualify for Membership of the national Accommodation Network and Bed & Breakfast Bureau. The Bureau reserves the right of cancellation of Membership of any accommodation which falls below these standards for whatsoever reason. COST OF MEMBERSHIP Signing on as a member of the Accommodation Network costs a nominal fee of R350. NO COMMISSION OR BOOKING FEE IS CHARGED BY THE ACCOMMODATION NETWORK TO MEMBERS . ALL FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS ARE DIRECTLY BETWEEN GUEST AND HOST. The Membership fee includes a listing on www.bookabed.co.za with your full contact details valid to 30th April 2011. There is a one off optional charge of R145 for a photo or website link on www.bookabed.co.za. We are able to keep the cost so low due to the support of our Members thoughout the country. LETTING FOR SHORT PERIODS If your accommodation is only available for specific periods such as December/January only (or the duration of a particular sporting or conference event) this information can be included on your text and the listing can be removed from the Internet on request after that period if required. The minimum charge for listing applies regardless of the length of availability. ABOUT OUR ORGANISATION The Accommodation Network and Bed & Breakfast Bureau runs the National Accommodation Network for bed and breakfast, furnished self catering accommodation and game lodges throughout South Africa. We are the largest Network of bed and breakfast and furnished self catering accommodation in the country and we were established in 1997. When enquirers access our internet site they can read the details of accommodation in the particular area they wish to visit. When they have made their choice, their enquiry goes direct to the relevant member via the ENQUIRIES email link ( next to each listing ). All financial dealings are between guest and host. NO COMMISSION is payable to the Accommodation Network on bookings received by Members via www.bookabed.co.za . Members also network between themselves on a commission basis, passing on overbookings and onward travel bookings. This is optional. (for details see below). When you have completed the Application form (obtainable by email from us), you will be informed by email where to pay your membership fee - see above under heading COST and optional fee for website link or photograph. Upon receipt of your application form at our office, an acknowledgement will be sent to you together with the text of your listing and our bank account details for payment of your subscription. Your description must be checked by you and on receipt of your approval your name and details will be added to our lists for your particular area. BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP The Members of the Accommodation Network and Bed & Breakfast Bureau receive the following benefits: o Membership of the Accommodation and Network Bed & Breakfast Bureau to 30th April 2011 o A listing on the Internet at www.bookabed.co.za Even if you have a website already, customers are more likely to access our BOOKABED site with its large amount of information as we have more options to offer. Also, due to our size and popularity, our website is more accessible through the Internet Search Engines.o A link to your own website (if you have one) next to your listing on www.bookabed.co.za o The (optional) opportunity of working within the National Accommodation Network This entails referring enquiries the Member cannot accommodate, or bookings for onward travelling guest or friends' or contacts' accommodation to other Members direct claiming 10% commission direct from them. A great deal of business is generated this way due to the number of active Members we have. o The benefit of referrals from organisations in more than 40 countries with which Bookabed has reciprocal arrangements. o The opportunity of offering the accommodation for international house exchange (optional). o The opportunity of offering the accommodation for daily rental for movie shoots (optional). o Members receive NEWSLETTERS from time to time with items of interest to accommodation owners - such as warnings about bilkers and thieves, etc. o The benefit of the following publicity undertaken by the Bureau. INTERNET website www.bookbed.co.za All members are listed and potential customers have access to their details and an Enquiry Form from any personal computer throughout the world. We are listed in the top ten sites on the major search engines. YELLOW PAGES - Durban, Johannesburg, Cape Town In various PUBLICATIONS AND NEWS ITEMS. We advertise on S.A.F.M. RADIO. We are already ASSOCIATED with over 100 accommodation websites in more than 40 countries with whom we have a reciprocal arrangement where their website is linked to ours and ours is linked to theirs. We are in the process of linking with further international sites. We also are active MEMBERS of Cape Town Visitor Service (previously Cape Town Tourism) and other tourism organisations. Our office is continuously working towards promoting www.bookabed.co.za in all ways possible to ensure maximum exposure for members' details.
